It is pronaounced suh-bar-oh. or... SABARRO. I know it is confusing but that is how.

Best not to, actually, while dining there: it could cause indigestion: The "sb" is pronounced the same as "sp" in the work "speak".

It's actually pronounceable the way it is - say 'sparrow', but substitute a 'b' for the 'p'. There'll be just the slightest hint of a vowel in there between the 's' and the 'b', but it's not really an 'a' or a 'u'. Or ask a family member how they pronounce their name.

I'm not a big fan of Italian chain restaurants. I like mom & pop places like the Original US Restaurant on Columbus in SF or the Gualala Hotel in Gualala.
